Eloping in Baltimore

Before you check out the different elopement venues I’ve included in this blog, I wanted to give you a quick overview of how to get your marriage license in Baltimore. This is a simple but essential part of planning your elopement.

Be sure to bookmark this page for later so you can easily access this page again when you need it!

Here’s what you need to do to get your Baltimore marriage license

Maryland marriage licenses are issued by the city or county clerk’s office, which is where you’ll need to go to apply for your license. In Baltimore, the marriage license fee is $85.00, and you can only pay with cash.

You have to go to the circuit court in person to apply for your marriage license. When you apply for your marriage license, only one of you needs to be present to apply for it. You’ll need each person’s full legal name, address, age, state and county of birth, social security number, and birth certificate.

As soon as you’ve applied, the clerk will review your application and then give you three papers: the original marriage license, the official copy, and the clerk’s copy. You must have your ceremony within six months from when the marriage license was issued.

To make sure you have all the information you need and to begin the application process, it’s best to visit the Baltimore Circuit City Court’s website, which you can access here.

Artifact Coffee

Artifact Coffee is another historic mill building, and the atmosphere is incredibly romantic. Just because it’s a coffeehouse doesn’t mean that that’s all there is to this venue.

This building is stunning both inside and outside, with its exposed stone walls, unique characteristics, and decor. The patio area is perfect for your elopement ceremony.

Queer Baltimore Elopement on a Houseboat in the Inner Harbor

Michaela and Achu planned a stunning elopement on a houseboat in the Inner Harbor with FLOHOM! They had a colorful celebration with incredible views of the water and vibrant wedding florals as the backdrop for their celebration.

The ceremony just included Michaele and Achu and their officiant, making it special and intimate. At the end of their ceremony, they both sprinkled colorful confetti in each other’s hair, and we wrapped up their wedding with some photos next to the harbor and on the boat.

While their elopement was simple and intimate, their colors brought so much personality and uniqueness to the day. Bright pops of red, yellow, and orange really stood out against the backdrop of the city and filled the day with so much love and joy. It was truly such an honor to be a special part of their day!
