Experiments in rainbow!
I love doing weird stuff with photography. From early explorations with Lensbaby lenses to funky lighting experiments, multiple exposures to tilt shift lenses to shooting through stuff, getting the quirky and unusual and interesting effects in camera is so much fun for me in ways that editing images in Photoshop has not been. Recently I picked up the really neat and colorful 7C filter from Spektrem Effects and I think I love it! So far I’ve only played with it for selfies but I’m scheming up a few schemes for how to test it out a bit more.
These images are not very interesting as a collection. I didn’t want to set up a tripod for more variety so I was limited by how far I could hold the camera from my face, and honestly I wasn’t intending to even take these photos–I just found myself putting the filter on the lens then wanting to play and before I knew it I was at 11 images. I’ve been taking selfies since I first got a camera and I want to up my game with stronger technique, but that’s a post for a different day. So for right now I’m sharing all 36 frames from this selfie session. I think there’s some interesting progression to be seen in how I angled my head, used light, posed, etc.
