As someone who moved around a lot I have several cities I call my “hometown”, but Annapolis is my Maryland hometown and the place I have the most connection with still. In high school I worked at the Ben & Jerry’s on Main Street, my first photo job was at the US Naval Academy, and I still mosey around the back streets when I want to test out new photo gear. When I found out Annapolis was having its first ever Pride event in 2019, I was absolutely thrilled to see my weird little conservative hometown celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community. Rainbow and trans flags up and down West Street are not something I ever expected to see, but the entire celebration was an absolute delight. Enjoy these photos from Saturday’s parade!
